As most of you already know, the current NFL collective bargaining agreement runs out on March 4th.  If the owners and the players union do not agree on a new deal, there will be a lockout causing all football operations to stop.  Electronic Arts has negotiated a deal with the NFL to reduce the licensing fees for madden 12 by $30 million dollars, ensuring that Madden 12 will be released as normal.  However, in order to use the NFL players names and likeness, EA will have to come to terms with the players association in order to use the players’ names and likenesses in the game.

We will keep you updated with any news regarding the release of madden 12 and any developing stories.
