Joey Porter, once a top linebacker in the NFL has signed a 3 year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.  He reunites with his former defensive coordinator on the Pittsburgh Steelers back in the early part of his career.  The Arizona Cardinals are slowly starting to become a dangerous team in next year’s Madden NFL 11 game.

  • QB Whitehurst Traded to Seahawks

In one of the more ridiculous trades in recent history, the seattle seahawks gave career backup Charlie Whitehurst, a 3rd round draft pick from clemson, a 2 year $10 million dollar contract.  They traded a 3rd round pick in 2011 and swapped second round choices with the San Diego Chargers in the 2010 NFL Draft.

The San Diego Chargers got the better of this deal by far.  They had never used Whitehurst, and really had no use for him.  They avoided giving him a big contract, and also significantly improve their draft for the next 2 years.  Pete Carroll, the new president of the seahawks has made some very questionable free agent moves thus far.

This might have some big implications for the Seahawks next year in madden nfl 2011.  Whitehurts could  be their starting QB in Pete Carroll’s west coast offense.

Looking to upgrade their weak pass rush, the Philadelphia Eagles traded a  fourth-round draft pick and defensive end Chris Clemons to the Seahawks for defensive end Darryl Tapp on Tuesday.

Tapp, who signed a one-year tender with the Seahawks on Monday, said he had no idea a trade was in the works.

This trade may make the eagles another popular team to user by gamers in madden nfl 11.

Since the Bears have no first or second round picks this year, they needed to make a splash in free agency. Julius The Chicago Bears signed Julius Peppers (pictured above) to the biggest contract a defensive end has ever signed.  He is expected to spark a once great pass rush and turn the bears back into a feared defense.

With the addition of Mike Martz as the new offensive coordinator, this team could suprise a few people next year.

  • Madden 2011 Rookies (NFL Draft)

Dez Bryant WR- He is 6’2″, fast, and the top rated WR coming out in this year’s draft. He will probably start around an 80 overall with 90 speed, and being 6’2″ he gives you the height to rocket catch.

C.J. Spiller RB- One of the more elusive backs coming out this year, he will probably have a pretty high fumble rating and not be able to run over anyone. Although, he will be someone who can break off a big one or catch a tough pass when you really need it.

Aaron Hernandez TE- He is not huge for a TE at 6’2″, but should be one of the fastest TE’s in the game. He will more than likely be the 2nd TE taken in this draft, which would put him on a good team in the late first round.

Taylor Mays S- He could become an elite madden safety as soon as the game comes out. He is 6’3″ and will lay a hard hit every time. I would imagine his hit power will be high 80s or even low 90s straight out of college. He does have a few drawbacks. He is not a great coverage S and isn’t very fast, but against the run and causing fumbles he will be elite.

Jermaine Gresham TE- In my opinion he is the best TE and maybe the best receiver in the draft. He is 6’6″ and has good speed for a TE. He isn’t the greatest blocker in the world, but neither is Dallas Clark and he is doing just fine.

Arrelious Benn WR- Unless you really follow college football this may be the first time you have heard of Benn. He is 6’2″ and 220 lbs. so he will be a WR that can run through some tackles, almost Brandon Marshall style. He does have rare speed for a big man and outstanding returning abilities. He will be a player that will get many touches in the NFL and in Madden.

Jahvid Best RB- Another home run hitting style of RB. He is similar to C.J, but will be worse in stats such as awareness and ball carrier vision.
